the Sderot, Israel, area, and are within range of the thousands
of rockets fired from Gaza in the past several years. |
This website was created in 2008 and taken offline in 2018.
Because of the recent Hamas atrocities I am putting this back online for historical purposes.
Israelis have suffered attacks from Hamas for many years.

This photo gives some idea of the closeness of the Gaza city of Beit Hanun to Kibbutz Nir-Am.

I took this photo of the morning of February 27, 2008, and later that afternoon a kassam rocket would land in this field.
The horses were not harmed. See photos related to this.

This is a well-known sculpture in the area, at a nature preserve close to Nir-Am.

This is another view of Beit Hanun from outside Kibbutz Nir-Am.
The building in the foreground is in Israel, the border is the diagonal road,
and Gaza is
beyond that. When a rocket is fired from Gaza it takes only a few seconds to arrive
in Israel.
